They say the way to your heart is through your stomach so that must be why so many of our clients just fall in love with Ryan Costigan and his Woodland Catering style! Cheers to another one of our amazing catering partners here at the Barn at Bradstreet Farm!
Ryan was raised on the north shore of Massachusetts with his 2 brothers. After receiving his 4-year college degree, Ryan went on to graduate from the Professional Chef Program at The Cambridge School of Culinary Arts. He then went on to work in many Boston area restaurants. But it was a stint in 2007 and 08 as the Head Chef for Green Olive Catering that sparked his interest in catering and started him on a journey build Woodland Catering from the ground up.
The food at Woodland Catering is the culmination of years of working towards the understanding of technique and ingredients. The process included concepts that would separate Woodland Catering from its competitors. A focus on locally grown and processed goods was always the first necessary step. As this idea developed, the realization that this would be a hospitality company first and a food company second began reveal itself. This combination of great food made with local ingredients alongside stellar service and communication have been the building blocks guiding the progression of the business. These building blocks align perfectly with the philosophy that The Barn at Bradstreet Farm has adopted.
Today Ryan makes his home in Merrimac with his wife and four young boys. His goal now is to continue to build this business in his image. This includes fostering relationships with other local businesses that share similar values and philosophy. Our custom menus will align perfectly with your special day and will always project the imagery our clients want to convey. As we like to say: “We don’t make food for you. We create food with you.”

When T & C first walked in to the barn, I could tell they loved it but it was at one of our first meetings that a small item on the wall that many have never noticed stood out to them. A long time ago a friend of Bradstreet Farm gifted us a small brass door knocker in the shape of a pineapple. One day when we were working on the new design Mike went to take it down, but I stopped him. We had to keep it up! You see, the pineapple is the sign of hospitality and welcoming people in to the space. And we were just about to open a wedding venue that would welcome hundreds and hundreds of people. It had to stay. We picked a spot and it still hangs there today well over a year later. Then comes that day with T & C when they noticed our pineapple.... unlike so many people who had walked by it and never really noticed it before- they saw it right away! They love pineapples. It was meant to be.
Their sunny wedding day was filled with bright pops of yellow, sunflowers, big smiles and of course pineapples! It was perfect. I smiled as I looked through all of their beautiful wedding photos that Lauren from LAD Photography sent it. Their wedding day really was perfect.
Thank you for sharing your special day with us, T & C! Your wedding was meant to be at Bradstreet!

We are so excited to share another amazing part of our Wedding Vendor Team here at the Barn at Bradstreet Farm! Today we are showing off the amazingly talented Jennifer Williamson, owner of Jenny's Wedding Cakes and baker extraordinaire!
Jenny is the owner of Jenny’s Wedding Cakes in Amesbury , Massachusetts . She has been designing award winning wedding and special occasion cakes for over 20 years. She has been studying classic food techniques on her own since she was a child and her passion for beautiful and exceptionally tasting food and desserts led her to self-train in baking and catering . Together with her background in art and education in marketing and business she was equipped to start a successful boutique wedding cake business emphasizing on classic aspects of design and style , small batch baking from scratch and personalized customer service. Sourcing local and farm to table is nothing new for Jenny as she has been doing this for years. From farm fresh eggs right from a farm in Southern NH to the fruits she using, Jenny tries to use local as much as she can and it shows in her delicious ( and stunning!) cakes.
Jenny’s work has been featured in several wedding publications and hard cover books, two world- wide publications and she has won several awards including Boson Magazine’s Best of Boston for Wedding Cakes 2012 and 2018, and Improper Bostonians Boston’s Best Wedding Cakes 2017.
We are so proud of our vendor team here at the Barn at Bradstreet Farm and we thought it would be a perfect time to introduce them to you all!
In our first installment of our Vendor Spotlight, we are pleased to introduce catering rockstar Krisztina Perron, owner and lead chef of Wooden Spoon Catering Company!
Krisztina grew up in the kitchen learning the recipes and traditions of her family’s culture. Her immediate family immigrated to the United States from Budapest, Hungary. Upon their arrival, most of them worked in the foodservice industry and eventually they owned and operated a few different restaurants throughout Massachusetts.
Krisztina attended the culinary arts program at Whittier Vocational Technical High School in Haverhill, Massachusetts, where she studied culinary arts and hospitality. She was the first student to take advantage of the "fast-track program", an articulation agreement with Johnson & Wales University. This allowed her to finish her college degree early by testing out of introductory classes. She took that extra trimester to go back to Hungary to visit family and backpack around central Europe with her older sister. After completing her degree in Culinary arts, Krisztina worked at hotels and country clubs in both the fine dining restaurants and banquet kitchens. In April of 2013, she opened The Wooden Spoon Catering Company in Amesbury, MA and has since carved out a successful career as a wedding and event caterer. She has been awarded the "couples choice award" by weddingwire.com for the past three consecutive years, which is based on outstanding reviews from happy couples.
Krisztina continues to share her love for her heritage and international cuisine through her public cooking classes at Kitchen Local in Amesbury, MA and Stonewall Kitchen Cooking School in York, ME . Krisztina has acquired her Massachusetts vocational teaching licenses in both culinary arts and hospitality and continues to learn and share her knowledge with the next generation of culinary professionals.
Through sourcing local ingredients, Krisztina has built strong relationships with many local farms and artisans. By working together, they to provide fresh, top quality ingredients and goods to the Wooden Spoon Catering Company’s customers.
